Admissions and enrolment

How do I apply for a place?

Start by sending an enquiry using the form on the Admissions page (it opens WhatsApp or your email app), or call the school office. The admissions team then guides you through each step: meeting the team, a placement assessment where applicable, and completing registration.

What documents do I need?

Please prepare a completed application form, your child's previous academic records, a birth certificate or other age verification, and assessment or placement results (if applicable).

What age can my child start?

Our Creche offers day care, Reception is for children aged two to three, Kindergarten (Nursery) takes children from age 3, and Primary school is for ages 5 to 11. Junior High School follows Primary.

Does my child have to take an entrance or placement assessment?

Where applicable, children take a short placement assessment so we can place them in the right class. The admissions team will tell you if it applies to your child's level.

Can I visit the school before applying?

Yes, we welcome visits. Call or WhatsApp the office on +233 596328472 to arrange a time. The office is open Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00.

Can my child join in the middle of the year, or transfer from another school?

Please contact the school office with your child's previous academic records or transfer letter. The admissions team will advise on available places and the right class for your child.

How do I find out if there are places available?

Contact the school office by phone, WhatsApp or email at [email protected]. Places depend on the level and class, so the office will confirm availability.

Fees and payment

How much are the school fees?

Fees are calculated for the academic year and billed per term, and they differ by level. Information on fees and financial policies is available from the General Office and in the fee table on the Admissions page. If a figure is not yet published, please contact the school office to confirm.

How can I pay school fees?

You can pay by bank transfer (Stanbic Bank, North Industrial Area branch), by MTN MoMo, or in person at the school. Telecel Cash details will be added soon. Full account details are under How to pay on the Admissions page.

When must fees be paid? Can I pay in two parts?

The school prefers that full fees for each student are paid at the start of the term. However, we allow at least half payment before the school re-opens and the other half before the school goes on mid-term holidays. The school does not accept excuses for delayed payment, and a student whose parent cannot meet the fee obligations may be asked to withdraw. The Principal, through the Director of Academics, may negotiate and authorise payment plans.

Does the school accept post-dated cheques?

Post-dated cheques are accepted only for the second half of the payment, and only if they are scheduled to clear one month before the school vacates for the term. A post-dated cheque that does not clear attracts a penalty of GHS200.00.

Where do I pay cash or cheques, and will I get a receipt?

Payments by cash or cheque should be made only at the General Office and only to the Fees Collection Officer. A receipt is given for every payment, either as a hard copy or as an electronic alert (e-receipt). Detailed information on payment options is available from the General Office.

What happens if fees are paid late?

Parents and guardians must pay all fees and approved charges by the dates on the fee schedule or invoice. If payment is not received by the due date, the school may send a written reminder and allow a reasonable grace period. Any amount still unpaid after the grace period may attract a late-payment surcharge of 5% of the outstanding balance. If fees remain unpaid for 10 business days or more after the due date, and no payment arrangement has been approved, Management may temporarily suspend the pupil from attendance until an acceptable arrangement is made. The school may also withhold reports, transcripts, clearance documents or confirmation of enrolment for a later term until all fees and penalties are settled. If you expect difficulty meeting a deadline, please contact the school before the due date to request a payment arrangement, which needs Management's written approval.

Are school fees refundable or transferable?

No. All fees paid are non-transferable and non-refundable. The same applies to the reservation fee, to excursion fees (unless the school cancels the excursion), and to all fees and monies paid if a child is suspended, expelled or placed under another disciplinary procedure communicated by letter.

Is there a capital or infrastructure levy?

Yes. The school charges a Capital/Infrastructure Development Levy to each child once on admission and again every three academic years. It funds projects such as building or renovating facilities, buying new equipment and improving the school's infrastructure.

Are there any other fees besides tuition?

Other charges include the Capital/Infrastructure Development Levy, a non-refundable reservation fee for pupils who will continue the next academic year, a late application fee for applications made after the second week of the final term, excursion fees, and a fee for hard-copy report transcripts printed at the General Office. Children who are dropped off before 6:45am or picked up after 4:30pm without being registered for Early Room or Late Room services are also charged a fee each time. Please ask the school office for the current amounts.

What if my child misses an exam because fees are outstanding?

Mid-term exams: a student whose parent or guardian has paid less than 50% of the school fees cannot sit the mid-term exams. Once at least 50% is paid, the student may take a different exam of the same standard for GHS50 per missed paper, within two weeks of the original date. After two weeks the paper cannot be taken and the student receives a score of zero for it. End-of-term exams: a student whose fees are not paid in full cannot sit the end-of-term exams. Once fees are paid in full, the student may take a different exam for GHS100 per missed paper, within one week of the original date; after that the paper scores zero. All outstanding fees and late-exam charges must be paid before a missed exam is scheduled.

What if my child misses an exam for another reason?

If a student misses an exam without prior permission from the Department Head, the student takes a different exam of the same standard at a date set by the Department Head, and GHS100 per missed paper must be paid first. If the student misses an exam with prior permission, a different exam of the same standard is arranged and no additional fee is charged. Please tell the school as early as possible if your child cannot attend an exam.

Are there scholarships or fee discounts?

Yes, under the school's Financial Aid and Scholarship Policy. Category A: parents with more than three biological children in the school at the same time get 50% of tuition waived for the oldest child. Category B: exceptional performance (an average above 95% in a term) earns 25% of tuition waived for the next term (KG2 to Grade 8). Category C: the student with the best average raw score in an academic year (above 90%) earns 50% of tuition waived for the next term. All other components of fees still apply in full, and terms and conditions apply. Write to The Principal, God's Grace International School, South Tesano. Category A applications must reach the General Office by opening day of the first term. Please seek clarification from the General Office.

Which curriculum does the school follow?

We offer an integrated local and international curriculum. At Junior Secondary level it leads to the BECE and Cambridge Checkpoint examinations, and at Senior Secondary level to WAEC and IGCSE qualifications.

How do you prepare pupils for the next stage?

Uniforms and school materials can be bought only from the school's seamstress, who is outside the main office; material bought elsewhere may be sewn by a tailor to the school's specifications (ask the seamstress for them).
